Helpline
An increasing number of companies are recognising that a healthy workforce is a more productive workforce. Whilst there are numerous physical and mental health programmes devoted to women’s care, there are few equivalent services for men and UK men’s health statistics lag well behind, both nationally and internationally. For instance, 70,000 UK men of working age die prematurely every year before even reaching retirement age of 65. That’s 1 in 5 men! Ill-health costs employers over £100 billion every year and the individual cost to families, both actual and emotional, is devastating. CHAPS can provide support in two ways: On-site talks and provision of easy to read booklets on Men’s Health in general for all employees, men and women. Full details are provided in our Men’s Health booklet and Men’s Health Passport, where you can also record all your medical details. Prostate Cancer on-site testing events for men aged 40-75. We provide simple PSA blood tests for up to 200 men at a time. The test results come back within a week and are accompanied by a report on the significance of the result and a recommendation on the timing and frequency of future PSA tests. We have provided these services across the UK since 2016 for Network Rail, Siemens Mobility, Crossrail, Thameslink and Amey Rail & Metro and lectured at many industrial conferences.
